Join OCME

We’ve made it easy for you to join the Orange County Model Engineers. Simply open the appropriate application form below, print it out, fill it out (being careful to write so the form is easily read), and then mail it off with your check — address is on the form.

And we have a membership that will fit just about any person, couple, or family! We have a Regular Membership, Junior Membership, Family Membership, and Associate Membership (for those who live further from the club).

Membership Costs Range from $45.00 per year (Regular Member) to $60 per year (for a family membership). But can cost as little as $15 per year for Associate Members (Who live more than 75 miles away from the club).

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions about your membership or what benefits we offer. And if you’re at all interested, contact us so we can invite you to one of our workdays or give you a private tour. Something is always going on at the club! Email us at info@ocmetrains.org

MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS

  • Access to the Clubhouse, Layout, Storage Sheds, club locomotives, bench cars, and rolling stock.
  • Can be trained as a club conductor and/or a club engineer (this allows you to operate locomotives or conduct trains during public run days. Must be 18 years or older)
  • The use of all club engines and equipment for personal use (when available). Because we realize this hobby is expensive, OCME is one of the few clubs that you can join that doesn’t require you to own your own engine or own equipment. Simply go through our training, and get to riding the rails with your family and friends.
  • The ability to be trained on how to operate all of the club locomotives (there are nine locomotives and one speeder)
  • Front-of-the-line access on Public Run Days
  • Access to “Fun Run” days and club “meets.” These are meetings of members from OCME and sometimes members from other clubs where multiple trains are running on the layout just for members and invited guests. It’s quite the showing of railroad power.
  • Free Storage for personally owned locomotives and equipment (work hour/volunteer hour requirement)
  • Friendship from other train enthusiasts
  • The ability to learn all functions of our railroad from how it’s built, maintained, and operated.
